O Silent Infinite (a Prayer for Advent)
O Silent Infinite, being beyond being which transcends existence (or exists not at all except in our shared desire for You)
Our hearts are filled with stories, myths, and songs that say once upon a time on a silent, holy night you became one of us.
Could it be true? could You really be born like us, hidden in humanity, trapped in flesh?
Like children waiting by the tree on Christmas Eve to see if the myths are true, in silence we wait; for what, we do not know.
May we catch some whisper of You, o Silent Infinite. A clatter on the rooftop. A cry in the manger. An echo of hope.
